EDMONTON – The Sports Corporation would like to congratulate Anton Siekel on being elected as the president of the Slovak Olympic Committee at its General Assembly in Bratislava on Saturday.
“Let me thank you for the trust you have put in me,” he said. “I will do whatever is in my power to engage in a constructive dialogue and find answers to all the questions.”
Siekel, the honorary head of the Slovakian Judo Union, secured 88 of the 109 votes, earning the victory over Branislav Delej, Marian Majzlík and Milan Jagnešák.
He will replace František Chmelár.
“I would like here to thank President Chmelař for everything he has done for Slovak Olympic Committee and Slovak sport,” Siekel stated.
Siekel is also The Sports Corporation’s vice-president of business affairs.
